Long May You Run

12.93 miles 2:01:37  9:24 ave pace.  Up and down City Creek starting from the Capitol.  Beautiful warm day.  Snow at Rotery Park which cut the run short by about .04 miles.  This run is normally 13 miles.  This is my longest and toughest run since Boston.  I feel kind of hammered right now.

4.65 miles 41:45  8:59 pace  very very tired.

4.65 pm miles 39:45  8:33 ave  I can't believe that just a little over a month ago I was logging 100 mile weeks.  I'm a little depressed thinking what it's going to take to get back there again.  I can't believe the difference between then and now, physically and mentally.  I feel like an old wash out.  I'm temped to run a small local 5K Saturday.  It would do wonders for me mentally if I can clock a solid sub 20.  On the flip side, if I'm over 20 I'd have to shoot myself. 

5.65 am miles  45:38  8:04  what a day, beautiful run in the rain.  After feeling like I'd never be strong again, or have a bounce in my step, today changed back to normal.  Felt like a real runner today.

4.65 pm miles 38:58  8:23  more rain this afternoon, quite heavy for a moment.  Wonderful run.  I love running in the rain especially when there is no wind.  Still feel like a runner.  I just might do that little 5K Saturday. 

21:11  6:50 pace  This is a very small local race, only about 50 people.  I am embarrassed with my overall time.  This is a perfectly flat course and I wanted to race it to see where I am physically.  Well, I'm not in a very good place.  So I guess I need an excuse and I think I have one.  Four days after Boston I had oral surgery, apicoectomy to be exact.  It's been tough, still have some pain and some infection a month later.  I hope to bounce back soon and get that 8 ft tall and bullet proof feeling.  Haven't picked the next race, it will be something in June and then Desnews Marathon in July.  We'll see how this unfolds.
